We are most proud here at St Mary's of our sporting excellence, and we are able to offer sporting activities such as basketball, table tennis, uni-hoc, swimming and use of the fitness room.
We have also created local footballing history. St Mary's FC was formed in 1977 as an U12 side which gained immediate success in the Islington Youth League. A few years on the same group of boys formed an U16 side which won the Michael Sobell League.
Supported by both the Education Authority and St Mary's Church, the club has gone on to be an amazing success. Some of the highlights have been winning the Spartan Intermediate Cup, the London Intermediate Cup and the Islington Midweek League 3 years consecutively. In 1995 we became a senior club seeking to achieve even greater success in the future.
We are very proud that individual players have gone on to attain success by being selected for the London FA, England semi-pro sides, England Youth Clubs U16 and U18's. From our junior sides Sean Wright has signed for Nottingham Forest, John Halls signed for Arsenal, Julian Ramerez for Charlton and James Allen for West Ham.
We are also proud that from our senior side Casper Walker signed for Newcastle, Bobby Bowry signed for Crystal Palace before moving to Millwall, Corrie Brown signed for Fulham/Stevenage Borough and Giften Noel-Williams who plays
for Watford and England.
